SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: MACA Limited (ASX: MLD) has entered right into a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Position Partners Pty Ltd and SafeAI Inc, with the events agreeing to work collaboratively in relation to the deployment of autonomy to MACA’s mining fleet.
SafeAI is a global autonomous heavy equipment firm focused on retrofitting heavy equipment for autonomous applications in mining and construction.
The SafeAI team brings decades of mixed expertise in constructing a few of the earliest autonomous mining and construction equipment, holds a number of patents on that technology and has deep expertise in developing critical security protocols and technology for autonomous passenger cars, as well as to development in superior AI technology.
Position Partners is the distributor of SafeAI and provides positioning and machine management options for mining, construction and earthmoving activities.
The MoU marks a significant milestone within the event and deployment of contractor autonomy and on MACA’s pursuit of this thrilling technology. Following a profitable six month proof of idea trial on the Karlawinda operations, the roll out will now focus on the deployment of autonomy to a a number of truck environment, alongside with retrofitting various truck types at quite a few site locations.
MACA made a modest funding in SafeAI in 2021 which has been validated by the profitable proof of idea trial.
