Kazatomprom announces management change

LONDON, UK: JSC National Atomic Company “Kazatomprom” (“Kazatomprom” or “the Company”) announces the next change to the Company’s senior administration team.

Mr. Aslan Bulekbay, Kazatomprom’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), has determined to pursue different alternatives and resigned from his place efficient 05 March 2022.

Mr. Bulekbay was within the role of COO since September 2021 and the Company needs to thank him for his contributions in sustaining pandemic protocols, overseeing Kazatomprom’s operational response throughout the January civil protests in Kazakhstan and safely delivering on the manufacturing plan throughout the second half of 2021.

The Company, with the support of the Board of Directors, has initiated a recruitment course of to evaluate appropriate candidates for the COO role. Aliya Akzholova, currently Director of the Mining Department at Kazatomprom, will act as interim COO whereas the method to identify and appoint a brand new COO is completed.

Kazatomprom is the world’s largest producer of uranium, with the Company’s attributable manufacturing representing roughly 24% of global primary uranium manufacturing in 2021. The Group advantages from the largest reserve base within the industry and operates, through its subsidiaries, JVs and Associates, 26 deposits grouped into 14 mining assets. All of the Company’s mining operations can be found in Kazakhstan and extract uranium utilizing ISR technology with a spotlight on sustaining industry-leading health, security and environment standards.

Kazatomprom securities are listed on the London Stock Exchange, Astana International Exchange, and Kazakhstan Stock Exchange.
