Wellington Airport announces Matt Clarke as new CEO

WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND: The Wellington Airport Board introduced Matt Clarke will succeed Steve Sanderson as Wellington Airport’s Chief Executive Officer efficient from 1 May 2022 with Mr Sanderson stepping down after 10 profitable years within the role.

Peter Coman, Wellington Airport’s Chair, said that with worldwide borders reopening and stability returning to the aviation industry, the Board view this as a good alternative for a smooth succession.

Matt has over 20 years’ expertise within the airport industry having first joined Infratil’s airport team in Europe after serving because the Chief Executive of Rotorua Airport.
